Re: Tulane Baseball Staying Put

I like baseball too. I don't think anyone is suggesting or considering dropping baseball. The point is D1 athletics is going through a complete overhaul. Power conference membership is what matters and that is determined by football. Baseball is an afterthought. Basketball barely matters. Uconn foot...

We roll our eyes at a lot of the media, certainly including Ed, but I’m sure no one wishes him and his family anything but the best. absolutely... you can disagree with the guy's opinions, but you still want him around to offer them for debate Who else will bash Tulane after the upcoming 13-1 seaso...

Re: Relive the Agony of the Military Bowl

I've only thought about that game no more than a handful of times since. Once earlier this summer when I put a longshot bet on Kyron Drones to win the Heisman, and the other times because of a crab cake I had in old town Annapolis before the game which was incredible . And while we obviously only t...

Re: Relive the Agony of the Military Bowl

Many bowl games are really exhibitions. What's sad is it moved us from a 2 loss season to a 3 loss one. The whole bowl system needs restructuring.

A. I’d bet that’s not accurate, but wouldn’t surprise me. B. Baseball isn’t building new facilities on campus. If holding back on that for a couple years to further boost the investment into the football program then I don’t see a big deal in it. It may look bad to potential conferences who expect ...

Back to thread topic: When a business has a favorable contract so one sided as to current market values, the other party ( or key components of it) are credibly threatening to walk elsewhere, you typically see the contract updated and brought to market. If Houston goes sideways I could see WIllie Fritz getting fired after one season. They could easily finish dead last in the Big12. Tulane patience >> Houston patience There's no way they went after a guy like Fritz (with his age and all) without being aware he's a slow builder and a "team char...

Any prognostication that thinks the SEC ESPN the committee will ever allow more than one G5 in the playoff can be immediately dismissed for paying no attention to reality. Sorry to be blunt, gents, but this is starting to sound like homers mad that their team didn’t cover the spread. Tulane won. It won every conference game. Nothing to get after this year. Player salaries capped at around $22M, revenue sharing, and unlimited scholarships with an AD that doesn’t have the experience to lead us through this. SMU buying their way in looks pretty sweet. I know people love polls. Someone start a poll on who would donate to T...

Here is the conference win totals. Opponents in bold . Notice we only play 2 of the top 7 teams. We have a favorable schedule on paper. It will be hard to replicate our defense form last year, but if we approach it we could easily win 10 games. Our offense has a very low probability of being the sa...

This relentless focus by some on the Williams fumble as if it’s the only play in his career is as worn-out as misrepresentative. I admire the guy for having the guts and wisdom to come here. This is like Merkle’s Boner. That one play didn’t cost McGraw’s Giants the pennant and the Williams play did...

No transfer from any player from any program at any time would surprise in today’s world. However as concerns Jenkins to LSU, quoting someone who states it’s a “done deal” then immediately asks if anyone knows anything about it is the least convincing evidence possible. I knew this situation existe...
